Mutant orchid prices nosedive in Vietnam

The steep price decline has left some of the country’s most sought-after orchid varieties, including Co Do (Red Flag), Bao Duy, and Doi Mat Pleyku (Pleiku Eyes) orchids, virtually worthless. Even Phu Tho and Hien Oanh orchids, two varieties deemed ‘national orchids,’ now sell for just thousands of dong each. Vo Thanh Rin, a veteran orchid seller who sets up his stand each day at the Cau Trang intersection in Binh Hung Hoa A Ward, Binh Tan District, Ho Chi Minh City, has been struggling amidst the falling prices. “I’m forced to sell my mutant orchids, including five-petal white Phu Tho and Hien Oanh, for just several hundred thousand dong,” Rin explained. Vietnam-Austria concert set to fascinate Hanoi audiences

The audience will have the chance to enjoy performances staged by artists from the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra led by Japanese conductor Honna Tetsuji. Austrian artists performing at the show include violinist Rainer Honeck, operatic baritone Adrian Eröd, and soprano Marta Poliszot, all of whom are expected entertain the audience with an exciting night of classical music. Artists will present several pieces from operas “Le Nozze di Figaro” and “Don Giovanni” by Austrian composer Mozart. Along with master pieces by the composer, Strauss and Emmerich Kalman will also be introduced to the spectators. Vietnam, Thailand Vow to Strengthen Cooperation in Different Spheres

HCM City int’l music, hot air balloon festivals to take place in December

Speaking at a press conference to announce the information on November 11, Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Culture and Sports Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy affirmed that these will be the biggest cultural events in the southern hub to further speed up the development of cultural industry and stimulate local tourism. These events are expected to attract nearly 500,000 on-site and 10 million online visitors.  Various activities will be organised at Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street, Thu Thiem 2 Tunnel Park in District 1 and “HOZO Metaverse” virtual platform.
