Vietnamese beauty appointed Youth Goodwill Ambassador of IIMSAM

She will therefore become a youth goodwill ambassador for social activities fighting against malnutrition in the world. Furthermore, Ha will work with concrete deeds in support of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development of the UN. IIMSAM represents the only inter-governmental organisation in the world with observer status at the UN Economic and Social Council. The organisation works as a humanitarian instrument in fighting malnutrition worldwide. According to the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF), acute-malnutrition makes up the world’s number one killer. Europe Village 2023 in Hanoi: Explore cultural diversity of Europe

This weekend, the pedestrian areas around Hoan Kiem Lake will be turned into a miniature Europe with a variety of artistic, culinary, and lifestyle experiences for the public. Organized by the Delegation of the European Union (EU) and EU Member States, Europe Village – the largest European cultural event in Vietnam in 2023 – will take place from May 12 to 14 and promises to offer a memorable journey through the diversity of European cultures. All beaches in Quy Nhon City, the capital of Binh Dinh Province, are crowded with holidaymakers. The five-day break is a suitable time for families with children to go to the beach. Vietnamese culture introduced in Paris

Addressing the event, Ambassador Le Thi Hong Van, head of the Vietnamese delegation to UNESCO, emphasised that traditional Vietnamese cultural heritages have been strongly preserved over the years and have been increasingly known to the world through a number of tangible and intangible cultural heritage certificates granted by UNESCO. Claudine de Kerdaniel, a member of the permanent delegation of the Saint Vincent & the Grenadines to UNESCO, said she was extremely impressed by the unique performances put on by Vietnamese artists, especially the water puppetry shows. She highly commended the talent of the local artists, the range of traditional beautiful costumes, the stage setting, as well as their thorough preparations for the shows. Hanoi to spend over $77mn restoring Kinh Thien Palace

The capital city decided to review historical structures citywide and set aside funding to preserve these ancient buildings and promote their value, according to the steering board for urban embellishment and development in the 2021-25 period. The Kinh Thien Palace was built in 1428 during the reign of King Le Thai To, but it was completed in the reign of King Le Thanh Tong. This is the main relic site among others at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel in Hanoi. Apart from the Kinh Thien Palace, the city will restore many other historical and cultural structures such as the Vietnam Military History Museum, the Hoang Dieu Archeological Site, the Long Bien bridge area, and 131 railway arches. The Vietnamese capital city plans to use VND798 billion ($34.2 million) to rehabilitate the Hoang Dieu Archeological Site, while VND136 billion ($5.8 million) will be earmarked for the Hoang Cung (Palace) exhibition house restoration project, which is located in the Thang Long Imperial Citadel...

HCM City orchid festival returns after four-year hiatus caused by COVID-19

The five-day festival is taking place as part of activities aimed at celebrating the 48th anniversary of the Liberation of South Vietnam and National Reunification Day on April 30 and International Labour Day on May 1. The event draws the participation of 200 units, showcasing around 29,000 orchid braches and pots in the process. Upon addressing the opening ceremony, Vo Van Hoan, vice chairman of the municipal People’s Committee, outlined that through the festival the southern city wants to promote orchid varieties with high economic value to both local and international visitors. At the festival miniature landscapes featuring images of the regions in the country will be displayed, especially the scenery of the river and the traditional craft villages in Cu Chi district which is home to the largest orchid planting area in Ho Chi Minh City.
