Photo: Dong Nguyen / Tuoi Tre News While each seller has their own unique story, many of them are students who use these special occasions to earn some extra money for their education. They often take a day or two off from their studies to spend up to 18 hours selling the flowers they purchased the day before or early in the morning. It can be a challenging experience for these young entrepreneurs, but it also offers them an opportunity to get ...

Fragrant white milk flowers blossoming as autumn hits Hanoi

Image
The flowers typically burst into bloom with white blossoms, creating a peaceful and fresh atmosphere on the streets of Hanoi. Not as resplendent as peach blossoms, flamboyant, or chrysanthemum, milk flowers feature plain beauty, capturing public attention by their ardent sweet fragrance. For many people living far away from Hanoi, milk flower fragrance makes them reminisce about the capital. Streets with large numbers of milk flowers, such as Quang Trung, Nguyen Du, Nguyen Chi Thanh, Tran Duy Hung, and Dao Tan, are all carpeted with the tiny white flowers. Hoa sua (white milk flowers) is a classic theme which is heavily featured in both poetry and songs. Enjoying the city’s streets lined with the milk flower in full bloom is truly a delight for both residents and visitors, particularly ...
