[Photos] Tug-of-War Games Unite Vietnamese and Korean Communities

Eight collectives practicing Tug-of-war Rituals and Games from Vietnam and Republic of Korea (RoK) came together in Hanoi to share, perform, and introduce their community’s heritage. Republic of Korea The event took place on November 18 at Tran Vu temple, Long Bien district, Hanoi, as part of the 2023 Hanoi Creative Design Festival. The event is organized by the municipal Department of Culture and Sports in collaboration with the Cultural Heritage Association of Vietnam and Long Bien district from November 17-28. The performance of Vietnam – RoK Tug of War Rituals and Games drew participation from nearly 500 artisans and practitioners from Vietnam’s Lao Cai, Vinh Phuc, Bac Ninh, Hanoi and RoK’s Dangjin city. Novak Djokovic granted visa to play in 2023 Australian Open: local media

Djokovic, who is Serbian, was deported from Australia in the leadup to the Grand Slam in January after he declined to be vaccinated. The former world No. 1 was originally barred from the country until 2025. The ABC said it had confirmed Immigration Minister Andrew Giles had overturned that ban, allowing Djokovic to compete. A spokesperson for Australia’s immigration ministry declined to comment on the reports. Australian Open tournament director Craig Tiley said this month that Djokovic would be welcome in January if he could get a visa, but that Tennis Australia was unable to lobby on his behalf. First 5150 triathlon series to take place in Vietnam next week

The 5150 Triathlon series was introduced by the IRONMAN Group, a sports event promotion company based in the U.S., in 2011. Its name inspired by the combined distance of 51.50km participants must complete, including 1.5km swimming, 40km cycling, and 10km running, during the event. This format is also known as the Olympic distance triathlon since its debut in the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. The 5150 Triathlon Phu Quoc’s athletes will start their journey by swimming a single-loop triangular 1.5km course in the beautiful waters of Bai Truong. After the swim, athletes will take a two-loop 40km ride on smooth tarmac heading counter-clockwise toward the southern part of the island before looping back and heading north to complete one loop. In the final-run leg, athletes will have to finish a two-loop 10km beachside run course. Local beauty unveils national costume for Miss Tourism International 2022

The outfit has been carefully designed by Doan Phuc Thien, drawing inspiration from Hue’s royal court music known as nha nhac. Hue’s royal court music was officially recognised by UNESCO as the first Intangible Cultural Heritage of Vietnam back in 2003. Therefore, Nga’s performance whilst wearing the national costume at the global pageant is expected to promote Vietnamese culture to viewers from around the world. Nga hails from Phu Tho province and stands at 1.74 metres tall with measurements of 89-62-92. She is currently an emcee, model, and actress.
