Europe Village 2023 in Hanoi: Explore cultural diversity of Europe
This weekend, the pedestrian areas around Hoan Kiem Lake will be turned into a miniature Europe with a variety of artistic, culinary, and lifestyle experiences for the public.
Organized by the Delegation of the European Union (EU) and EU Member States, Europe Village – the largest European cultural event in Vietnam in 2023 – will take place from May 12 to 14 and promises to offer a memorable journey through the diversity of European cultures.
Returning after five years, the event, with the participation of 16 EU countries and Ukraine as a special guest, will showcase the diverse cultural identity of European countries.
The event will offer an intense line-up of more than 20 musical performances by European and Vietnamese musicians, presenting genres from jazz, pop-rock, and DJ sets to classical rhythms.

Singer Kenjah (France), accordion and Styrian harmonica artist Jakob Steinkellner (Austria), DJ Regan Lili (Hungary), Kira Linn and her band Linntett (Germany), singer Simona De Rosa (Italy), saxophonist Olha Lakantseva (Ukraine), cellist Bui Ha Mien, violinist Trinh Minh Hien, musician Tri Minh and Icelandic singer-songwriter Disa Jakobs are among the artists who will perform at the event.
Visitors to the Europe Village will also experience a truly European atmosphere at the country booths, featuring special presentations, interactive activities, and attractive decorations. The experience will also be enriched by a tour of booths set up by European companies, where, regardless of preference for culinary tastes or technological discoveries, all are ready to provide a broad European showcase.
The event will also include a varied series of creative games for children and knowledge-stimulating activities. In these art spaces, visitors will find themselves immersed in the adventures of the senses, as reflected in the theme of this year’s event.
One of the features of the event is the exhibition of Dany’s comic art aimed at young visitors. Dany (real name Daniel Henrotin) was born in 1943 in Wallonia, Brussels. His first comic book series, Olivier Rameau, was published in 1968. Dany has enjoyed considerable success over the decades. Since then, Dany has constantly traveled between worlds in his comic work, while always maintaining a sense of humor.
Another attraction is the exhibition of watercolors entitled “Inspiring Shades of Europe”.

At the invitation of the Polish Embassy, artists from the Hanoi Watercolor Artists Club jointly created colorful paintings depicting European landscapes, including famous cities, buildings, and landscapes, all portrayed through the soft and liberal textures of watercolor.
According to the Delegation of the European Union, the relationship between the EU and Vietnam has been rich in all possible fields, and people-to-people exchanges such as the Europe Village are good examples of fruitful cooperation.
EU Ambassador to Vietnam Giorgio Aliberti said: “After a five-year interval, the Europe Village 2023 will return and continue its true mission of showcasing the richness of European cultures, reaffirming the EU’s motto: united in diversity. With a wide range of spectacular events, we hope that the event will be an exceptional occasion and continue to attract many people from across the spectrum of Vietnamese society”.
