Vietnamese Youth in Russia Celebrate the Founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union
This event is also to celebrate the 48th anniversary of the liberation of the South and reunification of the country; and 73rd anniversary of establishing Vietnam – Russia diplomatic relations. Besides, the final of the contest “Youth Melodies 2023” organized by the Union Committee in Russia also took place on this occasion.
The event was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Russia Dang Minh Khoi, representative of the Embassy of Vietnam to Russia, Standing Committee of the Party Committee of Vietnam in Russia, Association of Vietnamese in Russia, representatives of Vietnamese Associations, RANEPA leaders, judges, numerous Vietnamese students, international students and Russian friends.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi expressed his joy and honor to attend the event in celebration of the 92nd anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.

He emphasized that President Ho Chi Minh always cared for Vietnamese youth and believed that young people would create the future of the country. Ho Chi Minh also hoped that Vietnamese youth always work together to build a more and more beautiful and prosperous country.
Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi expressed his desire for Vietnamese youth in Russia to make more efforts to contribute to the development of the homeland.
At the ceremony, 14 members with outstanding achievements and contributions in the Youth Union’s work in 2022 were awarded the Certificate of Merit from the Vietnamese Party Committee in Russia. 28 other members were awarded the Certificate of Merit from the Youth Union’s Committee.
In the final round of “Youth Melody 2023” contest, 17 performances, including 14 live performances and 3 virtual ones were delivered to the audience and judges. These are dance, singing, dancing and theatrical performances selected from nearly 50 contested works by Vietnamese students all over Russia, which have been painstakingly practiced and performed.

Tran Phu Thuan, Vice President of the Vietnamese Association in Russia, a member of the jury, said that the performances were practiced continuously by the students for 10 days before the finals. All the works are very elaborate, showing the talent, creativity and dynamic of the students. This year, there are many works reflecting the noble sacrifice for independence and freedom, expressing love for the homeland and the country of Vietnam.
The jury awarded 6 first prizes to the Youth Union of People’s Public Security in the theatrical category; Youth Union of Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (RUDN) in dance; Youth Union of Plekhanov Economic University in the dance and singing; Youth Union of the National Technology University of Bauman in the singing category.

Characteristics of Vietnamese culture and people are also exhibited and introduced at the event. RANEPA organized a small exhibition corner for an introduction about students and previous leaders of Vietnam who studied and researched at the Academy.
During the Soviet era, RANEPA was the Academy of Social Sciences under the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (AOH), where Vietnamese General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong studied his thesis. The exhibition features the Thesis of Deputy Doctor of Science in History with the theme “Activities of the Communist Party of Vietnam to strengthen relations with the public in the contemporary period” that General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong carried out in 1983.
Larisa Taradina, Director of Education Development and International Cooperation of RANEPA, expressed her honor to attend the ceremony, hoping it will be a great festival for Vietnamese youth in Russia. She also expressed her love for the friendly and hospitable Vietnam.
