Belgian stilt artists enliven street crowds at central Vietnam festival
A group of Belgian stilt artists added excitement to the streets of Hue City in Thua Thien-Hue Province, central Vietnam by performing entertaining comedy acts and competitions on Monday afternoon.
The activity is part of the Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2023, which opened in Thua Thien-Hue on the evening of April 28 and will last through Friday.
Upon arriving at Thuong Bac Park on Tran Hung Dao Street in Hue City, the Belgian artists wearing stilts were warmly welcomed by both residents and tourists.
Following a period of preparation, the stilt artists responded to a command signal and gracefully mounted their stilts.

Their movements were executed with precision and skill, and wherever they went, spectators and tourists followed, applauding and cheering with enthusiasm.
The stilt artists stopped at key intersections, including the ones north of Truong Tien Bridge and in front of Dong Ba Market, to perform close-up movements that involved using their stilts to push each other, engage in mock fights, and create a lively and entertaining atmosphere filled with laughter and excitement.
In addition to their performances, the artists also assisted bystanders in learning to stand and move on stilts and took memorable photos with them.

“Not only are the artists skilled, but they are also incredibly funny,” Nguyen Thu Phuong, a tourist from Da Nang, said when watching the Belgian stilt artists perform.
“The performers always have a smile on their face wherever they go.”
The Belgian stilt artists are scheduled to continue their performances for several days on various central streets of Hue City to entertain the crowds.
