“Asian Version of “Tom And Jerry” Cartoon Re-Emerges”
In partnership with Warner Bros. Animation, the renowned cat and mouse duo will bring their thrilling chases to life in the vibrant streets, buildings, and cityscapes of Singapore. This captivating 7-part series, consisting of 3-minute episodes, will be produced locally in Asian countries. Audiences can look forward to the pilot episode debuting in August.
“The animated series ‘Tom and Jerry’ is set to be broadcasted on Cartoon Network in the Asia Pacific region and on HBO Go, Warner Bros. Discovery’s streaming platform, in Southeast Asia, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. This highly anticipated show will be available later this year before its international release.”

The project is created by Carlene Tan from Warner Bros. Discovery, with Vivek Bolar as the lead director. Animation for the project is done by Aum Animation Studios India, with story and design contributions from Robot Playground Media and Chips and Toon Studios, both based in Singapore.

With its unique landmarks, backdrops, and atmosphere, Singapore serves as the perfect setting to create a delightful addition to the beloved Tom and Jerry canon. Through collaboration with talented creatives in Singapore and across Asia, this project aims to expand the cherished franchise in the region and beyond,” stated Christopher Ho, head of kids, Southeast Asia at Warner Bros. Discovery.

Vishnu Athreya, Senior Vice President of Series at Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network Studios, stated that Tom and Jerry are highly cherished characters, demonstrating the ability to entertain any audience. He further expressed his enthusiasm in providing the Asian fans with a unique adaptation that they can truly call their own.
In addition, there are plans in place to introduce a range of Tom and Jerry-themed consumer products to coincide with the upcoming release of the series later this year.
“Tom and Jerry” is a prominent franchise within the Warner Bros. Discovery portfolio. With a global social reach of 50 million followers and a staggering 30 billion minutes watched on the Warner Bros. Kids YouTube channel, it has established a significant presence. Over the course of 83 years, the franchise has released over 500 episodes and 15 movies, earning it widespread acclaim and recognition. Additionally, “Tom and Jerry” boasts an impressive record of seven Academy Awards.
