The cost of living in Vietnam is another attractive factor for expats. In Hanoi, for instance, rent can be as low as $300 per month or up to $1,000 per month depending on one’s needs. The food budget can start at around $150 per month.

Da Nang offers a lower cost of living compared to Hanoi, with rent at $200 per month. Food options in Da Nang are also plentiful, with both local and international cuisine available, ranging from $100 to $200 per month.

Ho Chi Minh City has the highest rental prices, starting at around $400 and going up to $2,000 per month. However, travelers can still live on a budget of around $200 per month for living costs.

Furthermore, the enforcement of the new e-visa policy, effective from August 15, 2023, is attracting more foreign tourists to Vietnam. Foreign travelers can now apply for a 90-day visit instead of a 30-day visa.

In addition, travelers can also apply for a five-year spousal visa after meeting the necessary requirements. However, guests still have to leave the country once every six months, unless they are approved for a longer stay by the Government.

Another reason for living in Vietnam is the availability of expat jobs. Whether it’s teaching English, working in the information technology industry, or owning a business, there are many job opportunities for experts in Vietnam.

To increase job prospects, Travel2next suggests learning Vietnamese as a good starting point.

Lastly, Vietnam boasts a fantastic medical system, with numerous high-quality clinics and hospitals in all cities. These medical facilities cater to most expats’ medical needs.

HCM City orchid festival returns after four-year hiatus caused by COVID-19

The five-day festival is taking place as part of activities aimed at celebrating the 48th anniversary of the Liberation of South Vietnam and National Reunification Day on April 30 and International Labour Day on May 1.
